Maybe make more use of the colors of the Swiss flag...perhaps as region colors?

Dunno really, it seems like a well executed map to me. How do you make something seem 'more Swiss'? Poke it full of holes, cover it in chocolate, add watches, exaggerate its nuetrality...

Not trying to be silly here either, just don't know how you would make it seem 'more swiss'.

First thing is that maybe change the font...that always helps set the mood for a map. If I was doing a Hawaiian island, I wouldn't use Olde English. The second thing, again with setting a mood, is color. These are quite pastel and give a light and airy feel...sort of like candy. So you might want to use something darker, more green and brown. When I think of something Swiss I don't think Roger Federer or Swatches I think of the Swiss Alps. So maybe a bump map of mountains. Lastly, the decorations on things like a compass or scale bar can also help to set a mood...add in some Swiss Pikemen or just pikes to add a little flavor to the decorations.

My 2 cents. Good looking map by the way...personally I like it, these are just some suggestions on "Swissing" it up.

Steel General > do not forget adding banks and insurance companies too.

Kaplowitz > I don't know if it can help you, but you may use the cantons's flag. I can give you some ideas: Cantons of Switzerland.

Add mountains, it is fully of mountains in Switzerland, especially in Valais/Wallis where you can draw the Matterhorn.
In the West, there are many lakes (even in Valais), think about it.

That's all I can say about giving more Swiss spirit.


Edit: Oh one more thing, don't forget to write Svizra, there are four national languages, German, French, Italian and Romansh. You will probably hurt living in Graubünden canton.
