Coming together quite nicely! Have some rep!
Lookin' good Torstan! Kind of reminds me of the maps in the Belgariad books.
I will admit everytime I first look at the map, the river looks like a tree branch coming out from the left side of the page then my eyes adjust (Gods I'm old and my eyes are going :D)
Thanks for the rep Imperial. And thanks SG - I inhaled those books when I was younger. Its great to hear a map compared to those. Its been a bit of a challenge doing this one as my natural inclination has been to throw lots of detail at it, but that would just get lost in the final cut. My fear is that it might still be too detailed. We'll just have to see. I'm currently havering as to whether to put shadows on the mountains or not. I might have a play with it in a quiet moment later today and see how it looks.
hey, give me more detail information8)
Actually that's pretty much the finished version. I'm not allowed to post the final because it contains details about the book and the preference of the author is to keep that under wraps until the book is out. That's not for a while yet. I followed this with a more developed isometric map - you can find it in the Cartographer's Choice section. It came out really well.
