Oh! I'm so sorry I haven't been posting here! I'm happy people are interested. I only got one step further, and now I'm contemplating mountains. I've got a sort of idea but I'll need to sharpen up my Inkscape skills before I can pull off what I'm imagining. Thanks so much! Here's an update-I separated the hemispheres to make it easier to work, but they'll be touching again eventually.
Ha ha, I just noticed I never adjusted the position of the Northern polar circle. Boy, that looks dumb. I'll be fixing that by next post.
