Post Pics from space using Vue6

    Hi
Normally I donít do much Sci-Fi mapping but I got myself a new toy a while ago that Iím trying to learn, and in the process experimented with some tutorials.

The results might be of interest you those of you who want to be able to
construct and render views from space.

Below are two renderings of the same setting the only difference are the suns position. To do them are quite easy, itís a spectral atmosphere with 4 clouds layers. The trick is to adjust the cloud layer settings

    Praise Cool for backdrops

I could easily see images like these used as backdrops for orbiting stations, planetary explorations and orbital battle scenes - more for illustrations and cover designs than used as maps - but there so cool!

Vue is apparently quite a fantastic program...I really wish I could convince my work to buy it for me but it really has no use for our simulation development work...so I'll have to buck up and buy it out of pocket eventually.

    Vue is a fantastic program!

Iím only beginning to realize the mapmaking potential but it can accomplish things I thought impossible to realize in a computer, take a look at this tutorial:

Iím sure you will be more eager to invest after looking that page over

    I told you so!!

I'll post a dedicated tutorial on how to use it to make fantasy maps when I have learned to use it. Too busy with my Atlas map and a map website at the moment.

A map website??? Umm...That would be in direct violation of your user agreement here...Article A of Chapter 2 Volume III Note iv specifically states "There shall henceforth be no other websites dedicated to fantasy mapping hosted by or developed and maintained by members of The Cartographers' Guild under penalty of perjury and hanging unless said website exists for the sole purpose of advertising or directing members to The Cartographers' Guild." Seriously! Go read it!

Ok, you're right it's not there...

My website will set aside premium space for a banner linking to Cartographers Guild, rest assured

This site is a gem and is worthy of as much good rep as possible. But my mapping project needs a home where it can be presented in a more cohesive way than is possible using a forum.

So I have registered the domain ghmaps.net, and tried to remember my old web making skills to be able to put together something presentable.

You do know that Vue is currently on sale for 50% off, right? If you are going to do it, you may not want to wait.
