Luyan Planetary Map
Here's another project of mine:
Attachment 46686
I learned a lot piecing together the satellite imagery, and I learned a number of things that I want to do differently with future projects, but I'm fairly happy with this one as it is. I still have a few ideas with the frame elements, but I'm done with the terrain.
Just for fun, here it is mapped onto a sphere - I might try rendering them properly in 3ds Max sometime.

Yep. Luyan is mostly done from terrain around Lake Baikal. Here's a slightly updated version of it:

this looks very nice. I like the cloud forms and how you use them. Rep!

Nice stuff! I like the storywork that goes into them, makes it more alive for me. Personally am a fan of lighter coloured maps, but that's just preference. Repped!

Great looking work.
If I might ask. What software are you using for this? I ask, because am looking for something that will allow me to create a solar system for my game world, including allowing me to adjust the size of the planet, add or subtract satellites, generate stars for constellations etc. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
