Looking good so far.
Hi Folks!
I've been trying to get into Classic Battle Tech with a friend of mine and out of interest I created a Planetary Tactical Map (still in work), for some kind of small-scale campaign with only the barest basics of rules.
So, without further ado, here my try on the planetary TacMap![]()
Looking good so far.

Update!
Got somemore Work done. Look good and I really Like the sun.
Found a tutorial online for it.
Forgot Cloud-Layer and Nebula-In-Background-Layer![]()
So far so good. I would suggest toning down the greens to something more ochre or olive as they're kind of bright and gem-like but otherwise solid.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

Nice map. Interesting take on using only a slice of the world and having the star in the background.
I have to agree about too much green. That sort of thing is usually corrected pretty easily. I think if the text were a white or light blue color, it would not be such a green overload.
Overall, I would say you are on the right track.
Big Update.
Less green, more textures, darker clouds, cloud shadows, dark-side of the planet, city lights (inspired by nolgroth, thx!) and more.
What do you think now?
Looking good.
beautifully done
