Thread: I need star wars ships to use in maps!

Welcome to the forum. I don't have a link for you, just a suggestion: I have seen, in the past, free 3D models of Star Wars ships around the web. I'd find some of those and a free or trial-version rendering app (if you don't have one) and just do some top-down shots of them for your maps. Many renderers will let you do a render with a mask so you get just the object you want. If you can't find another app I suggest trying trueSpace 7.x, available now free from Microsoft. I think it renders to PSD format with layers.

Are you looking for ships to put on a map as an object to block movement or line-of-sight? Or are you looking for the internal layout of a ship?

For ships as objects:

• The Wizards of the Coast forums have other starships in one of their custom maps threads.

• The Holocron has a set of 101 Map-Making Objects which I think include X-Wings and TIE fighters. There is also a download there for the Falcon and Slave I.

• The SWMiniatures resources page has 2D tiles of several things - gunships, speeder bikes, A-wing, B-wing, etc.

If you are looking for the internal layout of starships, the Holocron has the Falcon. I've done a Barloz Medium Freighter for my SWRPG campaign. Several others have done internal layouts to non-Star Wars ships (but could be used for Star Wars). I have many of the Star Wars sourcebooks (more West End Games than Wizards of the Coast). If you are interested in a ship in particular you can PM me and we can see if there is a layout you can use from one of the sourcebooks.
