Help A tutorial Request [font creation]

Some people have mentioned that one can do font creation with Inkscape and fontforge... I know the tut would probably be huge... but my google-fu and other searching has failed me... so would someone who knows anything about this be willing to explain?

And yes I've tried plodding through it on my own... and I'm quite lost...

I did make my own font a while back but I lost the GFX file that it was in. Plus it was very techy anyway.

However, it would be neat to make a map with 100% original content (textures, colors, icons, fonts, etc) That would be an interesting challenge!

I think that would throw most of us out I'm not averse to using a pattern here n there but I tried making a font twice; my handwriting is illegible to begin with so that one died and never got past the letter F on the second one. That would be an awesome challenge, though.
