Wip [WIP] unnamed (undecided) fantasy map for a book.

Well, it's been quite a while (like, a million years) since I posted a map here.

I've been working on a book since the summer of 2009 and I'm only now beginning to really "find my bearings" on what it's supposed to be about.
During that time I've been casually working on a map to the book, since I think that a map can help you imagine the world better (altough the map should not be the most important thing... but still).

This map is still very much a wip.

I got inspiration to the mountains (the yellow-brown areas... I used a technique I developed myself before I started using this style) from a tutorial I found a while back on this site.
Sadly I can't find this tutorial again, otherwhise I'd give credit to whoever made it and advise you to check it out. if YOU recognise the style I used and know it to be from your tutorial - I thank you here and now.

    tl;dr
This is a map. I made it. It's very shiny. Woooh~~

Looks like you still have some work to do on the mountains. A bit triangles in the bottom corner and around the "Nei More Kadurah" ocean. Otherwise it's a cool map and nice border

I really like it Aenigma! Really nice muted colours. I remember seeing a wall map which had that sort of mountain colour scheme which I think works really well with this style of map. Did the tutorial have something to do with making a selection of the mountains, and shrinking it to get the contour line for the higher elevations...rings a bell.

Thanks! (thanks to Marken4 as well)
I don't remember any specifics about the tutorial. I just read that it had to do with mountains, I found an image in it and looked for like 3 seconds, saw the mountains and BAM! I was inspired

Wow, i totally dig the land-form. Awesome. Hope to see this evolve on here, on CG! Care to share some world-details? History, peoples and such things?

And now to the book ... tell us more !

I'm glad you like it! I'm gonna add the names of cities and nations etc. I could also make a small background on each nation that I could post here.

    Yes, please

Any teasers for your book? Or is this top secret?

Nicely done Aenigma, my only little critique would be the stroke around the land masses seems a bit heavy (at least to me), you might consider changing it (if possible).

Looking forward to seeing this develop.

MS-Paint? Well then I guess you can just ignore my comment then.
