We've seen some pretty cool map related stuff come out of the Beeb recently, and I just happened to stumble across this while idly browsing.

Seems that there's a huge, 3-d map of Scotland at Barony Castle in Eddleston. It has since fallen into disrepair, but apparently it was originally surrounded by seas and had flowing rivers. Moreover, there's a restoration project on that's set to restore the seas and rivers. How cool is that? Now I really wish I could go build my maps with actual running rivers and oceans and 3-d mountains and such.

More photos and some background info can be found here.

Another cool thing: Search Barony Castle, Eddleston on google maps, and you'll be able to see the map!
