Totally awesome, repped. I'm planning a map like this as a future project and I hope it turns out as good as this.

People come and people go. I walk amongst them, I see their faces; but none see mine. I pass them in the streets but nary a glance is spared my way, for what interest would they have in a Wanderer? Not of this world... Forever Alone... Forever Wandering... LoneWandererD...

This ranks among the best maps I've seen. Nicely done, and yes, snagged for inspiration. I'd rep multiple times if I could

This is a phenomenal map. Definitely one to be proud of. I have been away a while so I haven't followed the WIP (assuming there was one) and just had a few questions. Did you hand draw all of your features? I really love them. My greatest curiosity is how you did the shading, is that done by hand as well? By this I mean the horizontal dashed lines, I have been trying to get this effect using PS with little success.

    Thanks Kenmaira and Locution

Yep, the elements are all hand drawn, including the shading. The hills and trees are handmade brushes (the tree brushes i posted in the elements forum). As for producing the effect, it was long zoomed in (400% or so) hours with a tablet Right at the end I figured out how to make and use a brush, but it was too late to be of use for this map. If you make a brush of a horizontal line, and set the spacing and size jitter to taste, it can produce a similar effect.
