    Well... It wasn't just luck. There are actually two heightfields, one for the main land and one for the mountains. I scaled them and added them together to get one final height field for the render. I also played with the curves to get the rendered clouds to have the distribution I wanted....

    I'll make a couple of examples in a bit....

    Me too! The top down mountains (before the forced perspective) are exactly what I'm looking to emulate right now. Trying on my own to get Clouds or Inverted Clouds to be less random... can't seem to figure out how to get the white areas (for the high mountain peaks) exactly where I want them.
