Default May/June Entry: The Isle of Mona

My entry for this month is based on one of my favourite series; The Prydain Chronicles, by Lloydd Alexander. For anyone not familiar with the series, you may not realize that the Disney movie "The Black Cauldron" is based off of this series.

The area which I will be mapping is the setting of the Third book in the series, The castle of Llyr.

I just did a basic outline of the isle, and will do more soon.

Go Prydain mapping! One of my childhood inspirations for my love of maps was the Prydain cycle. The style of those maps was very different from this (and more recent editions I've seen don't have maps :-( ), so this should be interesting.

It looks good so far. I don't think I remember the Prydain Chronicles though.

    Very lush and painterly, nice.

Ascension says "painterly", which is a made up word he made up. I call it "eye candyesque". You can add esque to anything and it's still a real word. Realesque even.

    lol

anyways, another update. I want to add some plot details along the path, as well as a flag/crest of Mona. I can't find any indication as to the flag, save that there is one, so I guess I have a fair bit of creative leeway there.
