Thread: Northgate

    Default Northgate

Northgate is an (so far unexplored) city my my ADnD game world. The map was made in Xara Xtreme. For the representation of the buildings I used the Big Lazy City method, see here. This sped up the process dramatically.

cool stuff! I like how the labels indicate that the citys has expanded over time. maybe in your next map you could also have the buildings look like it as well.

I also really like the walls for some reason. good job, rep'd.

    This turned out quite nicely.

My only little nit-pick is that the 'building blocks' (for lack of a better term), seem to be "floating" above the land

The floating effect is because I gave the buildings a small shadow. This made the map look less bland.

I think if you soften the shadow a bit, it might alleviate some or all of the 'floating'.

Not a big deal, just something that caught my eye.

Looks really good, and a fine example of the lazy city technique
