    Default Hi Everyone

    Hey all,

Where to begin? I rely mostly on The GIMP, applying my maps to ongoing campaigns (4E right now) with old college buddies who are now in different states. We like to have nice pictures to represent our battlegrids, as well as "overworld" type maps that we travel across.

I'm currently at the point of trying to find the right balance between time and quality of my maps. It takes a lot of time to design campaigns that integrate maps, but I really enjoy a nice quality area for players to explore. Naturally, the more time I put into that, the less time I have for other things like character, story, and encounter design. That being said, I recognize that honing my skills is a realistic way of simultaneously upping the quality while reducing the time input (usually). Hence, here I am

Hello Lucent, welcome to the Guild! Since you are looking for a way to create nice looking maps with little expenditure of time, and since your are working with GIMP, I recommend checking out RobA's Regional Map Tutorial and Acencion's Atlas Style Map tutorial which Gidde was kind enough to convert for GIMP. Both of these are great walk throughs that will help you to meet your goal without having to invest tons of time in the process. Good luck.

    Cheers,
    -Arsheesh
