Default A Better Place To Install CC3

I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this. ProFantasy has their own forums but this is where all the experienced users hang out.

Vista's User Account Controls have been causing me endless headaches with CC3. I can't edit menu files directly or save new catalogs into the CC3 file structure because of these permissions. Therefore I've decided to uninstall and re-install in a less "protected" area. I was planning on installing into a user directory (just above My Documents).

Has anyone else done this? Does it cause any problems?

That is the recommended procedure. I have mine installed at C:\other programs\cc3.

I use that "other programs" directory for all kinds of older software that doesn't get along well with UAC. It solves 90% of the problems people have with CC3 and Vista.

I have mine installed as nothing more than C:\CC3

    < Silly problem deleted >

I installed the CSUAC incorrectly and thought I had a conflict with naming my root folder "_Campaign Cartographer 3" instead of "cc3". Resolved it when I realized what I'd done.

Everything seems to run just fine in its new home.
