    Default My First Map, Treteres - WIP

    Hello Everyone this is my first map its a Work in progress, but this is what I have so far, So I want your opinions. And Well. Some ideas on how to show forests, deserts and Mountains that would sort of fit with this style. Its been hard to figure it out so far. Ive not used a single tutorial,All work has been through Trial and error for over 12 hours. Thanks for any Critique you may have. n.n

    Software used: Gimp and Photoshop CS3

    nice first map Kaede - go look through the finished maps section and see if there is a style you like for your elements - perhaps something looking a bit like Ramahs would do nice.. .or the style Immolate use for his current challenge map of Wheel of Time...

    I Tried Experiment on my own, And Ive come up with this that I like for Mountains atleast. Tell me what you think.

    not bad, and only you can say what fits your map - cause its your vision. But if I should suggest something, it would be making them more uneven and un-alike and maybe add some horizontal "noise" to ground them more

    The hard part is doing this all with a mouse. I wish I had a tablet. I had one in art class at school. So useful. :/

    just bought one - been using the mouse for millenia... but really love the tablet, but I'm still only getting used to it

    Wip

    Well I experimented with rivers and added mountains where there sposed to be for the most part. Also I added some indication of Climate. Done for tonight. Hope you guys like it, any critique would be welcome.

    even though you map symbols are "stylized" the rivers seem a bit big at the end - I'd make them a bit thinner

    Thanks for the input, Im trying to figure a way to represent forests as a bunch ofl ittle circles for trees just doesnt cut it for me. XD

    What is the scale of your map? Just curious.

    For trees Ive seen lots of tree brushes around. :]
