Hard to tell with that small amount but it looks good so far. I am assuming you are doing this via layers

If it were me I'd do all the vegetation on one layer... rooftops on another.. roads on another etc... that way you don't have to worry so much about the initial appearance since you can adjust them all separately, duplicate/group layers and mess with those settings etc.

    Can't wait to see more!

very good start on the coloring - maybe a little pale but if you do as a2area suggests that can be fixed when you're done with all the coloring.
And nice special buildings in there

I've been so pre-occupied with creating more "naturalistic" sprawling cities, I'd almost forgotten how nice a well-planned city looks! I particularly like how the important (numbered) buildings have solid outlines that help them stand out from the trees. With both colored, it helps the buildings stand out, without totally overwhelming the subtle yet nice effect of having the trees in there. Looking forward to the keep, and the rest of the color!

Also, if you're using PS you could try simulating water-color paper - there's a filter that might help give the impression of a water-paint-erly effect.

This is progressing quite nicely, I did my own circular city a while back (click here if interested.)

Will keep an eye on this one, when I have time.

Another, update did a castle and started working on the river. The GM I was doing it for didn't like my halfling town so I changed it a bit. Some other tweaks and things too.

I want to put farm land around it, know any good photoshop ways to depict that?

What I don't like about this map are the adges of the paper, the torn aspect is just not realistic enough(I did the same thing about a week ago on a map). I don't know if you were following ZombieNirvana tutorial to do that, but I have been experimenting with this kind of stuff(I really love the burnt/torn edges) and I find that the best way to do it is just use the eraser tool with a Chalk brush, I like it at around 33 pixels more or less.
Other than that I love the circular city, and the symbols that you are using.
