New here, obviously, and very excited to have found this awesome place!

My interest in maps stems back to my childhood. When I was a sloppy youngster at the dining room table, my father would use laminated place mats for my spot at the table. The most memorable one (and in fact the last, once I used it I never wanted to switch) was a map of Martha's Vineyard with demarcations for depths and shorelines on the big island and Nantucket. I also spent a lot of time in the foyer of our little home (my father's study) gazing at his aeronautical charts up on the walls. Nowadays I'll laze away an hour here or there just scanning Google Earth.

I'm an RPGer at heart and love to be the scribe for any lengthy game. I'd like to get into making my own maps or improving on older ones I've found in campaign settings, books, etc. for my friends and I to use for tactical/strategic discussions or game play. So I plan on delving into the tutorial here and seeing what I can have fun with!

Sorry for the rambling, hope to chat with ya'll soon.
