    This is looking great, but it does indeed have an almost distracting smiley-ness to it. Maybe turn it over on its side? No real reason North has to be up, after all.

    The technique to make the mountains is courtesy of Pasis' tutorial, found here. The pattern itself is a combination of two things, one a random rock pattern found through the Great God Google, the other a photo of some rocky ground.

    Time for an update. I added in a bunch of text, some cities, and fiddled around with the coastline a bit. Blue coastal ring: yea or nay?

    I'm also debating on whether or not to add some more terrain texturing before I do the forests (my least favorite part), or if it would just be overkill.
