Question Getting the bump out in GIMP question

    Hello Guild,

I am playing around in GIMP and I had a color scheme for a landmass that I liked. I accidentally bump mapped the color layer and then saved before realizing. Is there any way I could get the "texture" out of the combined layer?

    Thanks

I think the only way is to try and select the land form shape and then create a new layer and fill the selection with color. to restore your color layer. Depending on tour image you could try a couple of tricks to isolate the shape. Try making a duplicate of the bump mapped layer and try some different things like photocopy or desaturate if it is too hard to isolate the land form with a fuzzy select. You could also do a quick mask. Good luck.
