    "Dear Gents and Ladies,

I am happy to introduce you, the very very amateur, very very newbie and unexperienced, new cartographer! He is a little shy, so be nice to him! Ofcourse, I am talkin bout my self!" - I have recently finished playing Dungeon and Dragons with my friends and as you can see, I am still full of role playing, so sorry then

Anyway, I do not consider myself to be artist or skilled cartographer, I am just another beginner, who decided to give it a try and learn a few things, couse I create maps from time to time, for my neverending adventures full of orcs, goblins, heroic acts and so (still little boy inside you know ).

Here is my first creation (Cartographer 3 and Photoshop). I know it is full of misstakes and it aint look special, but it is my first map I was creating with more then just a paper and pencil Guess that`s it for the introduction.

PS: Oh yeah and I am sorry for the language on the map. It is my native and the map is for another fantasy adventure

    Here is my first map

We're all beginners at one time, it's all about how much you practice and how fast you learn. For what it's worth, you're map is much prettier than my first maps (the third pic was my first Photoshop map). As for language, don't bother with that too much - we speak lots of things here; mostly English, of course, but many of us know a second or third language. Welcome to The Guild.

I actually really like your first map. The style of it is pretty excellent imho. I may try and make one like that myself for one of my projects. Welcome to the Guild...lots of good info and good people here.

That is an awesome first map! I like mountains in the brownish area, I don't see many mountains in that style, very nice!

    Hello and welcome!
Your first map looks great and I'm sure you will make even greater maps after reading some tutorials.

Yeah, there's nothing wring with that map. It's perfectly useable, and if you gave it to me as a handout, I'd have no problem working with it - as pretty as some of the maps are around here, functionality is the real deciding factor

That having been said, if you're looking to improve your artistic skills while making more maps, you've definitely come to the right place

welcome to the guild ... go check out the tutorials and when you're ready - post in the WIP section for help and critique
and when you post - use the image buttons or press "go advanced" for image manager - that way you get a thumbnail for your image + your image will always be in the forum and not be depended on 3rd party websites working
