I think you'd have to have grown up in Australia to get all the subtlties of this map. Very nice. It feels very authentic in most aspects.

I think the folds are too much. If you tone them down maybe, it would work. It is very hard to make folds, creases, tears and stains etc to work on any map. Good luck with your next treatment. I look forward to seeing it.
Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go..

Hi, I think I have done as much as I can on this project.. I am now happy with the folds in the map and the drop shadow.
In the end I finished it with Gimp, displacement and drop shadow, because I am just much more familiar with Gimp than I am with Ps.
The folds were done scanning a folded A4 piece of paper.
The b/w (grayscale) folds bump map was used for the displacement and representation in a multiply mode layer and using using layer masks to accentuate or lessen the folds' intensity.

Thank You All for your input.

Thank You CJS for your feedback , now and earlier.

Aval, thank you for your comments. I lived in Melbourne all my working life. I now live in a small place near Warrnambool. (Western Victoria)

I might make a small Tutorial out of the paper folds problems. I had a lot of trouble with it!
