    Default New Website online

    Hello!

I've created a new website for my cartography work: www.fantasy-map.net. It is still not completely finished, but the basic information is available, including commissions info and references. I'm open to critiques and ideas.

    Hey,

the design is nice. Beautiful and elegant. But ... the colors fit into my eyes not quite on the topic. Not that all the pages that deal with mapping, must be kept in the same light brown tone. But anyhow I see no connection to cartography except the compass rose in the logo.

I would fill the portfolio-page with several small thumbnails. Pictures of maps are that what the user wants to see. Actually he has to click through two pages before he sees the first maps.

Those were my criticism and ideas.

I like it, but I do agree with Quabbe... I think I would have switched out the background with some tinted map, like this: http://i38.tinypic.com/vdcosp.png

Thank you. Working on the background is still on the list. As for the portfolio: I have to see how I can change this.

Joomla, yes. It's difficult for a newbie, but slowly I get into it.

The lava-ish background reminds me of Diablo. Great site so far.

Can't go wrong with Joomla, IMHO.
