You know I just noticed one of the things that makes this so cool is the atmosphere you have as you approach the planets horizon. Nice touch.

Very nice! There's a typo right at the bottom?? "Pathfinder Corportation"? Unless it's "just the name of the shop!" .
    Still digging it!

Fixed a couple of typos, added some tchotchkies.

This is freaking awesome; I love it.

I noticed one 'word omission' in your section on Lost Hope:

"In the years following the Fall, the name of __the?__ ruined settlement..."

looks really good ... I'd raise the opacity of the text boxes a little to make the hexagons distract less

I increased the opacity of the text boxes and fixed the typo. Thanks for catching that!

Actually decided I didn't like the way the text boxes looked after the change, but I came up with a better solution. I flip-flopped the layer with the hex grid and the layers with the text boxes. The hex grid shouldn't interfere with the text now.

Maybe this is impractical, but have you considered 'wrapping' the hexes on the left, larger map to conform with the planet's curve? Where the settlements are, it looks fine, but looking at it again, it seems weird that the hexes just continue past the atmosphere into space.
