Looks pretty cool to me. My first impression (from the thumb) was that they were seismic events. Might be a pretty neat map detailed out.

September October Mapping Challenge - The Modern Arcanists Guide to New York City
Here is another idea I have been kicking around. I don't know if I'll finish it, and if other people like it and want to run with it, feel free. Anyway. In the same vein as others already, I thought I'd do my own "hidden world guide" to New York City. So, I hereby present the opening draft of the Modern Arcanists Guide to New York City. One of the conceptual differences is that "ley lines" are byproducts of the interference between Energy Focuses; if they interact well you would get a ley line and if they don't they'd make null-spaces.

Wow, I don't know about anyone else, but I read this as "A Modern Anarchist's guide to New York," and then assumes these were... targets. I thought "surely no one would be so tasteless..." and re-read it. Glad to see I was wrong! Sounds like a great map!

Here is the major draft after I've been making edits this evening.
Most of the relevant arcane points are marked. Plans now include:
- getting a nice border and probably a set of coordinate gridlines
- creating fake support documents, probably in an older style (probably hinting at an obscure printed book from the early printing press period)
- possibly adding in pencil marks or other similar marks onto the map itself
- including labels for obvious landmarks (e.g. Statue of Liberty, Hudson River, The Bronx, etc)

good idea - i would suggest either bringing down the opacity of the rings, or maybe less of them - it's sort of overpowering when you first see the map.
