I think you should choose a standard position for the labels relative to their icons and stick with it unless there's a reason not to. Also, consider arching the large labels that aren't horizontal. They generally look nicer that way.

Ya the labeling is a bit off. Gimp isn't the nicest when it comes to text. Chances are ill just redo all the text in inkscape once I finish everything else.

Finally got everything done so here is the final version of the map. I finally got the adobe sweet so I did the rest of this in Photoshop which worked out better I think.
