Thread: Another Stylised Map

    Default Another Stylised Map

    Hello all,

I'm having a go at drawing some stylised city maps in Gimp. My first attempt up can see here:

I though I would give this another go, but try to emulate a different material and style.

I was planning on a map carved into a stone slab, but I found the 'lava' noise makes a nice looking leather effect, so I went for a leather and pigment style map instead.

Having a bit of trouble finishing it off, would love some advice or criticism. I know the trees look a bit crap, but not sure what I can do about it.

    Here are three current drafts.

    Thanks

Looks pretty good, but I have to agree with you on the forest. The stylized lollipop-type trees may look nice with this style. Just a few here and there with a splash of green in the tops would give the impression of trees that-a-way without being a fullblown forest.
