Well after a few (ok maybe more like LOTS) of hours of work on this I think I have the look we were going for.

Yay!!! I think we'll just add some slight changes and it's done! Mondaga is also supposed to be a capital city, like Endaria, so can you put a castle there as well? And uh, the lake and the island houses... Caould it be changed to some other picture? They're supposed to be some sort of a warp gate as transport between the islands. Then maybe put the houses on the (left) island's center.

I should have asked what all the icons meant. I'll make those changes right away.

Here it is per your changes. I added a adjustment layer over the top of everything to darken it a little bit. If there is anything else please let me know. also please let me know in what format you need this (it's in jpeg here) but I can save it in .psd (photoshop) or any other file format for you.
