Hello,

While I am new here, I am not so new to cartography, especially for strange and/or fantastic settings. Having played and designed role playing games and adventures for over 30 years now, I have made many a map. Since I have always enjoyed maps of all sorts, current and historical, cave paintings to satellite imagery, creating my own maps has always been a fun creative outlet. As an outdoor enthusiast, backpacker and such, my love for wild places makes some of those my favorite sorts of maps, though I've done many sorts of maps. In the past decade or so, I've used Photoshop or the GIMP to create many maps, and am currently learning Blender to start creating some 3D maps as well. Even so, I can still be found with a sketchpad, pencils, water colors and other such media creating maps on occasion.

I look forward to learning new things about cartography, and sharing some of what I have learned over the years.
