I've placed Inky into some depths and created the beginnings of a play-mat for him. This is a 2/3s view of the top and side. Slip the tentacles underneath Inky to attack the players topside.

Should I add a surface, or leave it mysterious?

I like it mysterious. And I love that background pattern.

    Default Inky's Playmat

I'm going to call this Play-mat finished. I've also completed most of Inky's body parts, and included them in a zip file for others to play with. I see lots of VTT fun with Inky in the future. I want to move on and stop spamming up this topic with WIP posts, but I would love to see others takes on the mega-monster-tiles though.

A whole series of mega-monsters would be awesome!

    This is great.

As far as the eyes, I think it's just hard to make eyestalks look threatening. I think you need to add eyelids to them in order to create any sort of malevolence. Might check out some Beholder images for some ideas. Otherwise, the best you can do with an eyestalk is convey the I'm too stupid to care about anything so you will just have to die look.

    Great idea, repped.
