    Thanks guys.

Omnigeek - the base map is Antarctica, just without the ice cover.

Minor update. I removed the coastal glow for now, since it really bogs down Inkscape.

First things first, I've found a use for this map, considering it is my favorite "continental" map. More details, including very basic ocean current / wind pattern maps etc available at http://enderra.com/2011/04/06/sandbo...ing-the-world/

Now, to today's updates - I began adding forests:

What do you guys think? Textures are from http://www.jrcooper.com/gaming.htm - the author confirmed to me by email that they are free to use for whatever.

    I've also added more islands.

Every setting needs to have a caribbean.

Map now looks like this overall:

Added lots of forests and some swamps. Last addition was the ice in the north. I am fairly happy with it, but it needs work:

    I've fixed the ice sheet:

And I've added a bunch of rivers:

For the rivers, I am now actually using paths instead of manually painting them as I've been doing in the past. It is much easier, of course, once you realize it can be done (Thanks to RobA).
