Default How to make a Map Scale Bar in Gimp (the easy way)

(aka anything you can do, I can do better )

Reading this thread on making a map scale bar with photoshop reminded me of a script I saw before for gimp...

A few seconds of google-fu and:

Plugin para Gimp para hacer escalas de mapas (Gimp Map Scale Legend Plugin)

    and the provided samples:

While the page and screen shots are in Spanish, the script provided is in English.

Well isn't that handy. Cool stuff.

I snagged this myself some time back. It took me a few practice runs to figure out the configuration but it's pretty slick. Now if I could just start generating more maps I might be able to use it.

I'm glad there's a gimp method for this! Mine's just an explanation of an existing function anyhow Might be worth my time to go through and see if I can translate it to photoshop for pre-CS photoshop users..
