    Hello everyone,

    I am so enthralled to find this place. I have followed some tutorials here (well, just one really... but I'm looking forward to following more). I am into cartography simply as a hobby. Mostly for fantasy. I prefer drawing by hand with pen and ink, but I am more here to chat with others about using computers to make maps. I am interested in getting more into computer map-making for fantasy themes. Doing it by hand is always nice, but sometimes there are some really cool things that can be done using photoshop, GIMP, etc. (and those are the two tools I have). Also, when using computers, I can mess up and go back. Maps made in photoshop even can provide a good outline for one I'll later do on paper. Anyways... I'm glad to be here! And I'll post my first computer-made map ASAP.

    I agree, the versatility of art programs make having to erase bits of a hand-drawn map and cursing all the while a thing of the past.
