Just finished my first adventure map done entirely in Gimp. This map is a small cave on a deserted island I'm running my players through at our next gaming session. I used Duvik's "Dungeon Floorplan in Minutes" for advice on creating the general layout, and then RobA's fractalize path script to convert the square rooms into a more "natural" cavern feel. Once I had the path laid out, I messed around with various layer effects combined with different fill types. I know the map is small, I didn't think about the size of the completed project at first. That's something I will have to keep in mind when making maps in the future.

One think I'm not sure of how to do is showcase that there's a drop from the light brown floor into the light gray section.
