I like the white tower and the colour map next to it is really interesting. I don't see maps in that format very often and I think it illustrates urban population very well.

Thanks the both of you. ^^

I very much intend to finish this map For the most part, I'm trying to find a good style with which to do so.

    Thanks! ^^

I still want to add more diversity to the buildings. And (lol) I'm making building examples of street intersections as well as the main "highways" of the Under City in Minecraft. Will post screenshots soon.

Oh, and if anyone's wondering about the examples I'm building in Minecraft, here are some snapshots (note that it's very much a WIP and not even a priority). The last five pics are of the Under City (the last one being "underground", showing the current extent of the catacombs), which is basically made up of Valdin's basements, sewers and catacombs. The Under Citiy's "highways" are sewage and storm water collection canals that flow into the city canals (good thing the oceans of Novusvita have an abundance of microbial life that specialise in breaking down other creatures' waste products). Both the water level of the Under City waterways and the canals are at sea level, so waste is also washed out to sea by the tides (but only during high tide, as the canals are sealed off from the ocean during low tide, given that its a thirty-foot drop (or more. I can't remember, exactly) in water level, thanks to the larger of the two moons).

Yeah, sorry I haven't gotten to the map in like forever.

On the Minecraft examples of Valdin, I've updated the guard towers:

These towers are positioned at every majour street intersection. The tiny, older version will likely still be at the minor intersections and a third, medium-sized tower will be placed at the intersections of the majour and minor streets. Around twelve city guards are generally stationed at these large towers (with only 8 and the "medium" towers and 4 at the small towers), whose job is basically to respond to any criminal acts or emergencies (even cat-stuck-in-tree type scenarios) in the surrounding streets and park-blocks. The towers also provide excellent sniper (or, you know, archer) vantage points in case the city is attacked. Though the latter scenario is much less likely in the present, the towers and much of the rest of the city was built in a time when war and raids were an every day parts of life. The Aqueducts over the surrounding streets make a ring inside the tower, around its core. At the core is a spiral staircase, which extends from the top of the tower to the majour storm drain intersection of the Under City beneath the tower. The streets make a traffic ring of two lanes around the tower. The towers will be applied to the map soon.
