    Map Nemotia

Testing a 'new' style/technique. The symbols were painted before and placed with the clone stamp tool. This allows rather fast mapping.

    Done in PS

That's a great looking result. How do you get the z-ordering of the trees right - do you have a separate layer (or doc?) with the different symbols in?

Thank you, Jon! I put all symbols on one layer first by duplicating the originals into the new document and extending the work space to one side. When I've finished the positioning I crop the image to the necessary size.

I really love the map but the labeling doesn't match with the over all look in my opinion.

Beautiful work! I love the teal colour for the oceans; I am thinking I will need to do the same with my project now! I really love the runes and watermarks in the top left hand corner too

I love the colours and style - has a nice "soft" look (can't think of a better way to describe it). The mountains are great.
I agree with geamon thought - I think the labels don't quite match. Maybe a more handwritten look (or just a more "inky" colour text) would fit the style better.

    Thank you, guys!

Well, the labels were just put there to finish the map. I didn't pay much attention to it as the most important part for this style test are the map symbols. I could probably found have a better font.

Figured it was more of an after thought (didn't wanna phrase it that way for fear of offending ). No worries the style is good though.

Geamon, you would have to say much worse things to offend me! ;-)
