Fondest Greetings to You All,
I am Seraphine Harmonium, and I am come from the Campaign Builders' Guild owing to the fact that I have begun, on occasion, to make maps for my campaign settings. I have begun a new pet project, and difficulties with mapping certain terrain features is what drew me here. I draw my maps by hand, both because I am attracted to the whimsy of them, and because I don't know well enough how to use computer programs to do what I want. (Also I don't want to spend money)
Other things about me--I am an actor when I'm not gaming, and I have a lot of interest in mythology, particularly Celtic myth, owing to my Irish heritage. I am a Medieval/Renaissance nerd, I am getting into Steampunk, and my username is an obscure allusion to the Phantom of the Opera.
At the CBG, if people don't want to write out "Seraphine_Harmonium" every time they refer to me, both "Seraph" and "S_H (Or just SH)" are used, and acceptable.

Welcome to the Guild. If you are interested in using software to digitally create or even finish your hand drawn maps, I would suggest you check out GIMP. It's an open source graphics editing program that is free and very powerful. There are many users of GIMP in the guild and several very good tutorials written for it.

Ah yes. I currently do have GIMP. I will probably use it to edit maps in the later stages, but I am not good at drawing with a mouse (or the touchpad on my laptop) so I will probably still do the preliminaries by hand.Originally Posted by jtougas

Not sure why it wasn't letting me respond to this, but I do have GIMP. I made my last map by hand and edited with Paint.net. This time around I have GIMP, but I mostly using for touch-ups, labeling, and so forth. I'm sure I'm not taking full advantage of the program, but I like the way things have worked out in the past.
