Default May 2011 Challenge Entry: Molta

Taking a more abstract approach. So far I have the base land map. The outline is actually the northern tip of a real country, but I'm only using that for reference. I'm just creating this as I go, with no real end vision. I have a feeling the river police may nab me, as I really don't truly understand the flow of rivers. But I added some anyway. So.... here we go!

(edit) Here's my reference map. Changed it a lot actually. I just needed a starting point and liked the shape. It's Malta.

Rivers seems fine but the one coast-hugger is questionable. Some hills there fixes that, though. Dig your style, man.

Nice. Green sea seems to work somehow... got a bit of a RISK feel to it.

I guess since my experience is with risk style maps, it must rub off in my work. Lot of entries this month, should be good!

not much of an update, but added some roadways, and started work on some cityscapes. Not sure I'll keep this... but might as well show.

That font looks excellent with those colors. One thing you might consider is moving the name 'Saint Paul's Bay' into the actual bay instead of on the land next to it. It kind of creates the illusion of the land and sea being reversed the way it is now.

I see what you mean - I'll work on that a bit. With the vibrant green sea, it doesn't jump out as water.

    Still playing with this one.
