    Default *** May/June Challenge *** Planetary survey

This month's challenge is to create a planetary survey. This might be our efforts to survey Gliese 581d for future colonisation or it could be aliens surveying earth for ley lines, or even a map of spelljammer landing points on an asteroid hurtling towards a planet.

This month is about thinking big. Consider the information you'd want to show about a whole planet and how you could display that cleanly. Remember, your showing information about the planet, but the type of information and the style it's displayed tells us a lot about the surveyors too.

This challenge will end on the 15th of June. The winner will get a shiny silver compass, and a $40 store voucher from Profantasy

Cool! Hopefully I can get something in, but I'm not sure. Is the challenge just basically mapping a whole planet, or are there some other implications?

Is this supposed to be sticky? It seems to slide down the list. For a moment I thought Torstan was trying to pull a fast one and had entered the light Challenge himself

I went and stickied it. Hadn't noticed. Thanks, Jax.

I still haven't come up with a unique an awesome concept yet but have been testing and practicing making a planet and produced this one of planet Earth. (Using this tutorial for GIMP)

Hopefully this is helpful for anyone.
