    Default New French Guy

    Hello all!

I stumbled upon this site yesterday while looking for a tutorial on how to make forests, and I must say, as an avid (but very amateurish) mapmaker, I couldn't resist. I mostly do maps for the rpg's I play in, but I got a few commissions from friends and I'm looking foward to learning new techniques.

Here's a link to an exemple of what I've done recently.

So I'll be lurking, enjoying the wonderfull content, and occasionnally posting something if I manage to get over the hurdle of my broken english.

This is a great site. I've only been skiming it for a few hours, but I already have so many things to try...

Jungles are just how I do them so, good job there. The grassland looks kinds of stamped...I know the brush used so all I see is brush, brush, brush, brush, brush. Try blurring it so that it blends into the background to avoid the effect. The two sets of mountains in the east are almost all duplicate, change some of them. The red font looks plain, maybe try something with a bit more style, but not too much, and maybe change the color to a dark brown. Overall, pretty good job, just needs some refinement.

I really like the way how you put the key into the map!

Thanks for your help Ascension, it'll come in handy.
And thanks for all you compliments to the others, too.
