Question Looking to help - Anyone need a bunch of structures?

Well, as I'm not very good at city or regional maps, does anyone need some individual structures done? If you post, say, a neighborhood with the buildings numbered, and some notes on what you see them as, I can probably do it in a week or two, depending on the size. Naturally, if you have a whole city, then that would work, but I figure that you can post them as you get finished. A lot of the stuff in Ansium is looking interesting, but I'm willing to map any of the buildings in all regions.

<s>Edit: Never mind. Having seen the map of Greenstone Monastery here: (http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ll=1#post17298), I've realized that my interior maps aren't that good either. So, kindly ignore this post.</s>

Edit 2: They're more like this one (http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...print-quot-map). So, if that's what you want, then go ahead and let me know.

Hey, there's room for all kinds of different styles of map! Torq's work is stellar, of course, but I like the other you posted, too. Bottom line: do what you like to do, and if you see something you'd like to learn, practice until you can do it!

Personally, I'd be interested in seeing some more of Groam get mapped. I've got a lot of personal investment in that particular area. Maybe you could whip up a Council Hall for Arkender, or maybe create the Lakeside Monastery.

Sounds good. Any thoughts as far as square footage goes? Also, are there any guidelines on room shapes? For example, I could see them only using, say, hexagons for entrances, or something. Or only using a certain type of shape, period. And of course they might have some sort of hatred of rooms of a particular shape. If, say, a local cult of demon-worshipers uses octagonal rooms for their summoning rites, those that aren't members might choose not to use them to avoid suspicion.

Edit: Okay, I've gotten started on the 1sq = 10 ft. version of the map. It's the Council Hall for Arkender. I'll try to get it finished and up by later today or, at the latest, tomorrow. At that point, you can see my mapping style, and decide if it looks right. Also, I've decided that there are ten Council members. If that's wrong, let me know. As it is, it's a fairly large building, and I just barely managed to fit them and a reasonable amount of guards in (Note: Reasonable here assumes a fair amount of justifiable paranoia, and it's worth noting that I'm assuming that they have large chambers and live there). If you want I can have it as low as 1sq = 1 ft., which does allow for more detail, but at the cost of making the map bigger, and taking longer. If you post details that are contradictory to any of the stuff I've done, the map will be altered.

The typical standard in D&D is 1 square = 5 feet. However, this world is not geared toward any particular system, so there are no requirements on gridding.

As far as I know, there aren't many details on the Council, except what is described in the wiki here: http://cwbp.cartographersguild.com/i...title=Arkender and here: http://cwbp.cartographersguild.com/i...le=The_Council

Architectural styles may or may not be similar to the Stormlit Cloister: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ll=1#post23298
Also, the map of Kwourin: http://cwbp.cartographersguild.com/i...=Groam#Kwourin has some low-detail buildings, including a castle, that might be more typical of Groaman architecture.

Those look like they should fit with the style of building I made. I'll get it up as soon as I finish shading the areas with nothing in them. At that point, you can let me know if it's both readable and suitably Groamish.

Here's the map. My scanner is messed up so I had to take a picture of it and upload that, but it should be readable.
