    Default Domesday England

This is a commission I've just done for someone writing a forum game set in 1100/1200 Britain. Took about 10 hours. The initial tracing of the counties was done in photoshop and the texturing and labelling in Drawplus. The patron wanted something old looking.

Thanks to Ramah for the city icon I used for London. .... Thanks Ramah!

Love it. The texture works fine, it really looks like an old wallmap. The border looks great aswell. Absolutely stunning!

Good stuff... I love the way the border is all distressed and half gone and stuff...my one complaint is that the hills/mountains are not distressed enough and look a bit out of place... perhaps vary the color with the underlying county color?

Thanks guys. @Jf - yes, the mountains do look a little out of place - I wasn't 100% happy with them, but the guy I made the map for loved the map, so I left them as is.

And in most cases, that's really all that matters, especially if you got paid....

Either way, the map overall is quite cool and (other than the mountains) looks like it was made hundreds of years ago.....

    Pretty sweet, man.

I like the map too :-) but have one complaint:

Expecially the Southeast suffers heavily by an overdose of grunge effect. Less would have been more here.

Also shouldn't there be three lions in the "Crown's" coat of arms? (not sure)
