    Default Candia

I've recently been working on a world map commission piece for an author. The author provided the basic outline and I just threw in my own embellishments to it. This is a map of the southern continent of the world (the full world map is not yet finished).

I very like the beoutiful bladelike form of the Landmasses. Its looking quiet impressiv. Well I hope to see the other continents.

Awesome map! A bit to dark in the water for my tastes, but the land looks great! It has that Dragon Age map(not sure who did that map) feel to the land colors.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah I was sort of drawing inspiration from the "Dragon Age" style, and from DJ's work (to my mind he has really mastered this style!). I went back and forth on whether or not I thought the sea color was too dark. Whenever I tried lightening it though I always ended up preferring the darker version better though. Hm, perhaps I need to do some more experimenting here.

Lovely map, Arsheesh. I like the vibrant colours and the dark blue sea. With labels on it this map would really sing.

If I had one criticisim it would be that the paper texture around the border looks very heavy. Just a nitpick really.

Thanks for the advice Ramah, the parchment texture does look a little heavy now that I look at it again, I'll bear that in mind for the future.

Excellent work Arsheesh. I really like the colors you used too.
