Default December Entry: Lair of Raffnaer

This time a smaller project for the challenge...

    What I want to do:
    a handdrawn-looking-map
    - Inkscape only, no additional rework in a raster program
    - max five hours of work

    90 mins used up for:
    - having the idea
    - creating the basic shape of the cave
    - toying around with filters

    Ideas and suggestions are welcome...

Good layout. I really like the "HALL OF UNFORTUNATE HEROES", it says it all.

Inkscape goes hell on the CPU when using a few filters - there is a reason, why one normally uses multiple programs. I see the challenges here as an interesting opportunity to look into software functions I have not used much till now...

Anyway, after another 45 minutes - which takes me to a total of 3.25 hours on that map this is the

There are many things that could still be tweeked but I said 5 hours and they are done.

Nice job. A couple years ago, we had a 'timed map challenge' with a 4 hour window to create the full final map. So your practice to meet a specified maximum time is not an unheard of mapping goal.

It was a little of self protection - my last project ate just too much time...

Great map, the tan background looks a lot better than the pinkish one did. Interesting little backstory rounds it out nicely.
