I've said it before, but these are just awesome. I have actually tried few of these myself, but the outcome have not been even close to these pieces...I need more practise

thanks! On request of Gidde I tried to make one for a city. Not as good as the last one but I hope this explains a little on how I think when I do these symbol thingies, .... and maybe it's of use. cheers, DJ

Well I think that's just dandy! Thanks so much for humoring my request I can't wait to go practice this up!

Edit. Ugh -- I still can't rep you yet. The thought is there!

Excellent work, Djekspek! It's obvious you're a pro, thanks for sharing your trade secrets. I'm new to this map making biz. I'm helping my brother with his map for his book to flesh them out in a more artistic way. These tuts and this site in general have been really helpful. It's getting me excited to start working

This is awesome! Just looking at this I can improve my forests in a real simple way, and this is great for all kinds of other stuff too. So, if you wanted more rounded buildings, I suppose you'd do it the same way as with those cities and castles, and just make the bottoms of the roofs and walls with a curve instead of a right angle?
