Default January 2012 Entry: Archons Edge

Named for the hero Archon who held back invading forces across this field by releasing the full force of his magic and the magic of his Coterie ripping the earth apart in front of his defenders making them able to hold until reinforcement arrived. Archon himself was burned to crisp by channeling the enormous amounts of magic.
Today a small town has grown around the pillar that was erected in his honor.

LOL. That comment made me go back and check to see if a fort made from couch cushions would qualify as an entry.

Assuming I stick with fantasy cartography, I'd like to become a World Builder, laying out not only a realistic topography, but also the geopolitical boundaries and at least rough descriptions of the countries and societies.

As long as you don't make an entry into your cat's litter box....

I was going to put a white sheet over my pillows and say it was a hillside covered in snow.

So it turns out I threw away my old miter saw when I got my new electric and professional one. However the new ones blade is to large for making small cuts so been out buying a miter box and saw again. I've strongly reduced the size of the diorama I wanted to do as I realised I probably didn't want to throw it out after and that meant I had to make a diorama that would fit on a shelf. So the measurements ended up 24 x 75 cm. I've sketched the main road, the river and the placement of the pillar raised in Archons honor.
