    Default Old Malcir

Something for a story idea; kind of a dying Earth type of thing, with the remnants of ancient technology mingling with necromancy and vampires.

Many thanks to StarRaven for the swamp brushes:

Awesome map. Btw, what kind of necromancy may I ask? Magic necromancy? Or necromancy using technology?

Probably technological; I was picturing ancient AI's grafted onto humans, existing in a state of undeath, as well as more primitive, 'barbaric' vampires living in clans in the mountains, the result of ancient breeding programs gone awry.

Pretty nifty map, that! How did you do the coastline stippling?

    Very easy:
    1) Duplicate the 'land' layer, set fill of this stipple layer to 0%.
    2) Outer glow, color black, set to 'dissolve', and set the size and opacity as desired.
    3) Make another layer underneath this one, and merge this and the stipple layer together to remove the layer effects.
    4) Layer - Blur - Soft Blur
    5) Place this new, merged layer under the land layer, but on top of whatever ocean layer you might have.

    And that's it.

Excellent map Diamond! The only thing I have to criticise is the circular placement of the tree symbols in the south, but that's just me.
I can imagine that this style could be transfered to CC3.

Yeah, I wasn't very happy with that either, I think I got hypnotized by the text label there.
