Map Vahltor - The City of Keys

    Attachment 42312

I posted this as a WIP a few days ago, but this is now my first finished map post!

Vahltor is the capital city of perhaps the most powerful nation in my conworld of Helevos. It's the capital of a naval empire in an early industrial period, with a technology roughly equivalent to Europe around the 1700s. Vahltor is the heart of a bureaucratic empire which jealously guards its secrets and it's borders. The city's many walls and gates are an effort to control its citizens - hence it's slang name, the City of Keys.

The map is based on an hand-drawn version which I've edited in Photoshop. The style was inspired by an 18th century map of Constantinople.

    Hope you like it!

Very nice. I like the muted colors and sketchy feel of it. That's an impressive first finished map post!

    Agree with everything Cereth said.

    Great stuff.

Very nice image. I agree the coloring is fantastic as well, good choices.

I've followed your WIP and I am glad that you haven't made major changes to the city map. Have some rep for your first finished map

It's really a stunner. Great job. I love the worn ink look.

Great looking map. The muted district colors and hand drawn inking affect really work well together. Have some rep, and a post rating.
