    Default *** March/April Challenge - Ink blots ***

This month's Lite challenge is whatever you want to map based upon the supplied Inkblot image below.

It could be landmasses, lakes, floating islands, puddles, holes in the ice or whatever your imagination can create using the silhouette. You can add to it, change the resolution, whatever, but the base shapes must be visible in the final image you enter. So download a copy and get started.

These are always fun to watch because there are so many variations folks come up with. We look forward to seeing what you create.

As always, to enter you must:
    • Start a new thread in this forum with the title March/April Lite Challenge Entry - <name of entry>
    • Attach any work in progress images to your posts using the forum Attachment Manager
    • Use the tag ### Latest WIP ### before any image you post so that the thumbnail manager can pick it up. It doesn't have to be in bold lettering like I have it but the text must be the same.

The challenge will end on the 15th of April, and the winner will receive a silver lite compass. Good luck!

You can find the current thumbnails of the maps in progress here (just as soon as the last challenge is locked and voted that is):

Can we move the inkblots around a bit? Not reordering them, but for instance moving the bottom one a little closer in, that sort of thing?
This cavern is below all, and is the foe of all. It is hatred, without exception. This cavern knows no philosophers; its dagger has never cut a pen. Its blackness has no connection with the sublime blackness of the inkstand. Never have the fingers of night which contract beneath this stifling ceiling, turned the leaves of a book nor unfolded a newspaper.

That's mostly up to the voters to decide how well you stuck with the wording of the challenge rules. Typically, I would suggest sticking with the shapes as presented though(you can of course increase the size or rotate the entire thing even.. Some people have even added stuff, but again, it's really up to the voters to decide(personally, I tend to vote for the person(s) who most closely follow the letter of the rules even if it's not the "prettiest" of the entries)

    What jfrazierjr said is correct.

Just out of curiosity, when is the voting going to begin? If the competition ends on the 15th, shouldn't the voting booths open soon?

Should we also post our challenge maps in the Finished Maps thread?

After the challenge ends, if you like you may, absolutely. For now, it's enough to have a thread in the Current Lite Mapping Challenge forum with the last picture tagged ### Latest WIP ###.

Bear with me, I'm new to setting up the voting and this may take a few.
